Norikazu (Nori) Kosuge, a former Chaffey College alumni returned to the Inland Empire for his art exhibition. The exhibit was held at the Claremont Forum on Sunday, April 25. While here, he also conducted workshops to teach the form of paper-cutting.

Nori is an accomplished artist in the medium of paper-cutting. Paper-cutting is an art form which began in Japan in the late 1950s. It is a form of silhouette, using one sheet of black paper and cutting out the delicate design with an exactor knife. The final product is an intricate design which can be anything from a portrait to a famous landmark.  His pieces sell for up to $600 each.

Nori flew back to Japan on Friday, April 30. He will continue exhibiting his art there and is scheduled to be interviewed on TV Nishi Nippon. He hopes to return to the United States in two years.

Nori graduated in 1993 with an AA in photography.
