The fall semester is quickly approaching its end and November is finally over. With that, the final opportunity to drop classes by receiving a withdraw (W) has expired.
With finals on their way, and a holiday season peeking distractions at every opportunity, the pressures are weighing heavily on students.
As a full-time student currently taking seven classes, communications major Natasha Gheybi is no stranger to this stress.
“There is lots of pressure placed on finals,” Gheybi said. “Not only do I need to do extra studying, I need to do it in the needed time frame.”
In preparation for finals, Gheybi is frequently visiting the math center and taking advantage of the time away from school.
“It feels like a need to reject family, especially around the holidays,” Gheybi said.
In order to accommodate the demands of finals, like many students, communications major Raul Cabrera is staying home and setting aside distractions to get schoolwork done.
“It’s horrible. I have to worry about finals and last minute tests professors decide to throw at us,” Cabrera said, “I think professors take pride in their ability to make us crumble.”
Prioritizing and taking full advantage of all the available resources on campus is the way to prepare for the upcoming finals.
