Art is not just a course fulfilling a general education requirement. It is a complex subject driven by creativity and expression. It can take on a variety of forms and be perceived in different ways.
ARTicles is a new quarterly produced publication created by students with the help of advisors John Machado and Rebecca Trawick.
“It provides students with reviews and information on everything art related going on and around the Chaffey campus,” said art history major Jackie Gronbein.
Through the ARTicles publication, students are becoming more involved with the art community, while providing a voice to the student body.
“I love all of the art opportunities Chaffey offers for artists of any walk to pursue,” said English major Alexandria Walper. “Having an excuse to be part of more of these things and write about them is a chance I have to take advantage of.”
ARTicles hopes to extend the awareness of art outside of the art community. As the new Center for the Arts, also known as the Arts Village, is attracting more attention from students, it is leaving its artistic imprint on the Chaffey campus.
“With the new Arts Village, there is a definite feeling on campus that there is an arts community,” said Gornbein.
The quarterly publication of ARTicles is supported by the Chaffey College Marketing Department. The publication be found at the Arts Village or at www.chaffeyarticles.com.
