The new uniform for Chaffey guys seems to be large plaid hoodies. Anywhere you look, groups of guys wearing the exact same ensemble are all over the campus: baggy jeans or sweatpants and plaid hoodies, sometimes trimmed with fur. So, to all the guys dressing this way, it’s time for change. Unless, of course, being just another face in a mediocre crowd is desired.
Now that I have presented the problem, I offer a solution. It’s really not that hard to look decent. For a start, buying clothes that fit nicely is a definite must. It’s a small step that has a huge impact. This does not mean clothes that are skin-tight, however. How do you know if it fits well? It should accentuate your figure, be comfortable to move in, and not so big you could fit at least one other person inside the garment.
Next is the actual selection of the clothing. I understand the need to be casual and comfortable for a long day of classes, but this does not mean sweatpants. Under no circumstance should sweatpants be worn outside of your home. No one wants to see that.
Nice clothes can be comfortable too. When looking for shirts, keep an eye out for ones that can be versatile. Something simple enough you wouldn’t mind wearing to class, but nice enough that you could wear it to a nicer event.
Finally, pay attention to your shoes. If they’re falling apart, it’s probably time to say goodbye. Girls notice these things, even if you and your fellow males don’t. Think about the impression you want to make and what your clothing style says to the world. As young adults hoping to enter the job market soon, looking sharp can make all the difference.
