The Chaffey theatre was filled to capacity on April 22 to hear what Dr. Karen Lyman had to share about the changes taking place in China.

The title of her lecture was "Lessons from the New China: Hutongs to High-rises, Communism to Consumerism." She presented her findings as Chaffey's Lecturer of the Year.

The Chaffey Panthers baseball team kept the train rolling against Foothill Conference rival Antelope Valley, defeating them by a final score of 6-2.
The Panthers pulled out the victory behind the strength of starting pitcher Andrew Steinmeyer. Steinmeyer tossed a complete game, striking out four batters and only allowing one earned run.

Spanish Club Advisor Mercedes Limon has been working hard since 2007 to bring an International Theatrical to Chaffey.

"A Spanish language performance will be brought to Chaffey in September 2008," Limon said. "Although it will be performed in Spanish, there will be an English translation, and we are in the works of finalizing the process.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration

A Cinco de Mayo Celebration will be held on Monday, May 5 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Campus Center East Quad. There will be mariachi music, Mexican food, and pan dulce. Cinco de Mayo is the date of victory for the Mexican army over the French at the battle of Puebla, which also represents a symbol of unity and patriotism for the Mexicans.
