With the Chaffey population growing each year, the satellite programs that are offered have become a great way to take classes elsewhere.
The newly designed Chino campus has 16 classrooms, which include biology and chemistry labs, large lecture halls and many success centers. They offer all the same services that the Rancho Cucamonga campus with only one difference, less people.
While this newly constructed building is significantly larger than the older Chino campus, located only a few miles away from the new one, it still seems as though it is nearly empty. The students go to class and then leave right away. They do not stay in the quads or even grab a cup of coffee from the coffee shop.
Student Vanessa Savala said that she goes to Chino campus because it is only few miles away from her home.
"Although they don't have all the classes I need," she said. "It is only a 5-minute drive opposed to 30 minutes."
The design of the new buildings look very modern and there were mixed feelings on how the students felt.
"I really don't like the design." Savala said. "It's kind of hard to get to classes."
On the other hand Samantha Becerril thinks that the building is really nice.
"They have indents on the building where you can sit," she said.
So what is next for the Chino campus? Because there is plenty of land around the new building they are planning to build a community center and also a health science center by the start of Spring classes.
So next semester students might want to check out the new facilities available for them.
